To our sadness, after several months our son lost his battle against an inoperable brain tumor and died; however, to our joy, this brought Ed to know and trust the Lord and it also strengthened my faith.

With Jerry spending the majority of his time building the business, it fell naturally to Muriel to raise their five children. This meant putting her dreams on hold for a while as well.

The three Schrimsher brothers share how working together has affected their family relationships.

“Our marriage was never going to fall apart, but I could have let him go a few times,” she says, laughing.

“I wasn’t the most sensitive guy at the time,” says John. “I had gotten even less sensitive because of my business success. I think I was getting further and further away from a dependence on God. The result was that my wife and I grew further and further apart.”

Marriage certainly hadn’t delivered any satisfaction...it wasn’t long before I was wondering, "Is this all there is to marriage?"
