I’m a crazy person 😅
Not only have I purchased Napoleon Hill’s original Secrets of Success series for $1.5 million… collected hundreds of hours of un-broadcast Earl Nightingale recordings… but I also bought P.T. Barnum’s pocket watch!
Here’s me opening the box.
Crazy — and I love it so much. It reminds me of what’s possible when you set your mind to something and pursue it with ceaseless passion.
That’s what P.T. Barnum was all about.
One of my favorite stories that illustrates Barnum’s ability to achieve is when he brought the famous Swedish opera singer Jenny Lind to America for a concert tour. Despite Lind being relatively unknown in the United States at the time, Barnum's promotional prowess turned the tour into a massive success.
He created such a frenzy around her arrival that she was greeted by thousands of fans in New York City! The tour grossed over $500,000, a staggering amount for the era, and Lind's performances were consistently sold out. Barnum's innovative marketing techniques, including extensive use of the press and public appearances, made the tour a landmark event in American entertainment history.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur or just someone trying to find your calling in life, Barnum has a lot of wisdom to provide!
Below, I’ve collected some of my favorite quotes from his books and writings — 64 to be exact. And then I’ve organized them by category to make it easier for you to browse.
You might want to put a few of these on your wall 🙂
