Success follows confident people. That’s because confidence is a significant contributing factor to achievement.
Confident people have faith in themselves. They know their capabilities and self-worth. Their self-confidence causes them to stand taller, look others in the eye, offer assistance, speak up in conversations, and stand firm in their positions. It’s no wonder they stand out.
Self-confidence is an attractive quality in all senses of the word–it literally attracts good things (and people). Consider some advantages confident individuals have over insecure ones.
Confident people:
Belief in oneself is an important skill to develop for unlimited lifelong success. Let’s look at some tips and resources on mindset and success to get rid of self-doubt and walk in confidence for a more rewarding life.
The secret to growing more confident is to think like you already are. That may sound too easy to be true to some and absurd to others.
The belief that your thoughts affect your outcomes is called the law of attraction.
Will thinking about being more confident make it happen? Well, there is more to it than that, and we’ll get into the details right now.
The law of attraction combines manifestation and magnetism principles. Let’s break down these two parts to better understand how they work.
The ‘manifestation’ part deals with focus. You’ll better achieve your goals once you learn to focus on them. Stated differently, you can’t reach a goal you don’t see. Here are some books about focus if you want to read more in-depth about it.
‘Magnetism’ involves attracting beneficial things. Like attracts like, so to grow in self-confidence, you must act confidently. By projecting confidence, you start pulling in all those benefits (plus some) you read about at the beginning.
Once you start reaping the rewards of confidence, your confidence begins to compound and grow. Good things happen; you get a confidence boost. Your more confident self aims for more achievements; good things happen, and you get another confidence boost. It’s a rewarding snowball effect.
Optimistic thoughts and feelings work to bring more positive things into your life. Those positive thoughts and feelings turn into positive experiences.
However, we admit that while it is simple, it isn’t necessarily easy. That’s why we will give you two helpful exercises to start living by this principle so many successful people swear by.
You must exercise your brain, training it to think deeply and dream big. But also, you must train your brain to be quiet and listen. Establish a daily or weekly routine of sitting still and concentrating.
You have a lot of soul-searching to do to define what success looks like for you. Additionally, you’ll need to meditate to establish goals, envision yourself achieving them, and give yourself pep talks along your journey.
Meditate on your values and goals. Establish your core values by considering how you’d like others to remember you. Align your goals with your values to live your best, most rewarding, fulfilling life.
Meditate on what success looks like for you. It can’t be all about having a lot of money in the bank or material possessions. Money and things don’t buy happiness–doing what you were born for does.
Meditate to set goals. Create short-term and long-term goals that align with your core values. You may have a great business or philanthropic idea for a goal. Or, perhaps your goal is more family time. Write your ideas down and look at them daily, or paste them onto a prominently displayed dream/vision board.
Meditate to envision your success. Regularly meditate while imagining yourself achieving your goals. Concentrate on how that feels–Accomplished? Grateful? Happy? Energetic? This particular meditation exercise helps you internalize and project more confidence.
Meditation is the foundation of the new life you’re building. You’ll need to regularly rest and recharge using mindful meditation exercises that restore uplifting energy along your journey.
You meditated and now have a vision (maybe even the physical vision board to go along with it). You created a focal point. But how do you get there?
It’s not enough to dream and wait for things to fall into your lap. You control much of your destiny and must put in the work to set things into motion, stay on course, and reach milestone after milestone. Establish small achievable goals that add up to your big goal. For example, to master a high dive, you must first master smaller ones.
Buddha said, “The mind is everything. What we think, we become.”
Thoughts are powerful. They can build up or tear down. What you think can turn into real-life truths.
The law of attraction works well because it gives the user a focal point. Think about the reasoning behind putting blinders on a horse. Where the eyes go, the head and body follow. So, if you want the horse to look straight ahead, you physically block them from looking anywhere else. Establishing your vision helps you see the opportunities and pathways to reach the goal, blocking out all other distractions.
You live your most purpose-driven life when you align your values with your goals and activities. You are fulfilled and playing on a different level than most people. You are focused on growth, knowing you don’t have all the answers or skills but are committed to working on them. You have faith in yourself, working towards something worthwhile.
As a result, you have less time and worries about what others think of you (real or imagined). You are achieving small steps that add up to a big dream. You’re enjoying many smaller successes on your journey.
The combination of focus, purpose, perseverance, and achievement all work together to create a more self-confident you.
