It sounds crazy…

But let’s pretend.

What if it were true?

What if everything in your life — the hardships, the loss, the disadvantages — were actually for your benefit?

What would that mean?

Well, it’d mean that every failure was there to teach you something new.

It’d mean that every hardship occurred to make you more resilient.

And it’d mean that every disadvantage intended to spur your creativity and ingenuity.

Now that might seem like a ridiculous perspective.

Maybe you consider yourself a “realist”.

Things don’t happen for a reason — it’s all just a meaningless blob of occurrences.

But…

What if you chose to believe it?

In Man’s Search for Meaning, Viktor Frankl wrote, “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing, the last of the human freedoms — to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

You can always choose what you believe and how you think.

No one can take that power from you.

And consider this…

Research shows that optimistic people live longer, are more successful, and experience higher levels of well-being.

But here’s the kicker…

Those people experience no fewer setbacks, hurdles, or disadvantages than the rest of us…

They just choose to see them differently. 🙂
