What do you think of when you hear the name Earl Nightingale?
A lot of people just see a man who was inspiring…
But do you know where that man came from?
The context of someone’s story is often just as important as the lessons they teach 🙂
→ Did you know, for instance, that Earl was only 12 years old when his father abandoned his family, and so they lived in a “tent city” near Long Beach during the Depression?
→ Or that he lied about his age to join the Marines and was one of only 15 surviving marines aboard the USS Arizona during Pearl Harbor?
→ Or that at one point he received a personal invitation from the Queen of England to visit her at Buckingham Palace?
→ Or how about that he said THIS in regards to teaching people The Strangest Secret…
"It would be cruel to tell people how much money I make, but it would be selfish not to show them how I did it."
Earl Nightingale certainly wasn’t born into wealth or fame.
He was “self made”.
He had to be.
In fact, his own life was a testament to the very principles he taught — which is why he’s one of my favorite personal development “gurus” of all time.
This stuff wasn’t just theory for him…
…it was real LIVED experience.
When he said things like…
"People with goals succeed because they know where they're going."
"Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality."
"Our environment, the world in which we live and work, is a mirror of our attitudes and expectations."
…it was because he had lived the truth of those statements — and that’s why they resonate with so many people today.
