When you think about your biggest disadvantages in life, you probably wouldn’t list “being healthy” among them.
And yet there’s a HUGE paradox — our own health and comfort can also be our biggest hindrance to achieving what we want to achieve.
In Lead The Field, Earl Nightingale goes so far as to call it a “handicap”...
"For most of us we have our health, which is the natural inclination of all nature, and we have our lives to live. Sometimes, believe it or not, that’s a personal handicap. It often takes the physically handicap to demonstrate for us the unlimited possibilities that exist as an option for those willing to set goals and stay with them until they’re achieved. While the healthy among us often take the path of least resistance."
This reminds me of amazing people like Jon Morrow, who’s paralyzed, but has built a blog — SmartBlogger — that makes over $100,000 per month.
Or Stephen Hawking, who had ALS but made massive contributions to science.
Or Nick Vujicic, who was born without limbs but became a world-renowned motivational speaker.
The list goes on.
It’s often the people with the real disadvantages… who show us what’s really possible.
So…
What’s your excuse? ;)
