Jim Rohn (September 17, 1930 – December 5, 2009) was an iconic motivational speaker and philosopher of personal development. Jim Rohn was born to a farming-family in Idaho where he was the sole child. He grew up poor but was eventually able to become a self-made millionaire.

He started out his professional life working for a clothing retailer and later moved on to direct-sales with a couple different companies. He was mentored by the founders and was able to build one of the largest teams in the company. After that company went out of business he was invited to speak at the Rotary Club he was a member of. From there he was asked to speak at numerous luncheons and events. He “broke out” as a public speaker in 1963 with his first public seminar.

He has authored several books that are regarded among the most impactful for those wanting to achieve their personal and professional goals. He taught that belief in yourself and an unrelenting determination are the most important indicators of future success.
