Reader Reviews
I've read bits of Marden's books in several places, but I really wish I had read this when I was a teenager. Inspiring to say the least. He doesn't sugar coat the hardships of life, but he assures us that we can overcome anything if we maintain an iron will!

Another masterpiece in a long line of self help and empowerment material from Orison Swett Marden. You have to have an Iron Will if success is what you want.

This is a book which is simplistic yet at the same time deep and inspiring. It simply leaves you with no excuses. It's length means it is a book you can truly read every day, yet will make you think and inspire you long after you've read it for the day.

I loved this book. I send quotes of this book to many of my friends due to its outstanding content. I already purchased some of his other works. Amazing work. We does put a lot of things in perspective. We must be grateful for the opportunities we have. There is no excuse for us in the age of technology not to achieve our highest potential, we have so many tools and information at the tip of our fingers. I’ll make sure to re-read it in a regular basis.

Great for anyone who needs a kick or two in the ribs to get going on living their life, and in the completion of personal goals they have set before themselves. This book is both for and against the half-hearted dreamer.

Published in 1901, this book or rather booklet was a self-help bestseller of its day. Orison Marden compiled a wonderful collection of quotations, examples, definitions, and stories of indomitable will. I found myself highlighting numerous quotes and revelations on the characteristics of "Iron Will". The author argues convincingly, all man's achievements are the result of an "Iron Will" persevering thru obstacles, tragedy, defeat, failures until its single-minded focus determines the inevitable outcome, the triumph of will. A quick read, yet both thoughtful and entertaining stories of willful triumph. I would recommend reading, particularly for young adults.
