+ the golden rule…

This week I’ve been sharing the “rungs” of Napoleon Hill’s “magic ladder to success”.

In case you missed it, they’ve been…

  • Definite Aim — Know where you’re going.
  • Self-Confidence — Believe in yourself.
  • Initiative — Take action TODAY.
  • Imagination — Be creative and solve problems.
  • Action — Continue to take action relentlessly.
  • Enthusiasm — Stay excited about your goals.
  • Self-Control — Control your emotions so they take you where you want to go.
  • Over-Delivering — Deliver more than expected.
  • Attractive Personality — Cultivate a personality that is attractive and compelling.
  • Accurate Thought — Focus on truth, not opinion.
  • Concentration — Learn to focus and do deep work.
  • Persistency — Stay committed over the long-term.
  • Failure — Learn from failure and accept it as part of the process.

Go look at those posts if you missed ‘em! They include quotes and practical tips :)

Because today I want to share the FINAL three rungs #14 - #16 with you.

You can get the PDF I created here.

And you can watch my full breakdown here (about 20 minutes).

Rung #14 — Tolerance & Sympathy
We’re not just talking about having tolerance and sympathy for your own mistakes (although you should) but also for the people around you. You’re not going to achieve your goals alone… and so it’s important to show kindness toward the people who are going on this journey with you.

→ Practice Saying Nice Things
→ Don’t React Immediately To Bad Situations
→ Assume The Best of Everyone

Quote: “No man can become a great leader of men unless he has the milk of human kindness in his own heart, and leads by suggestion and kindness, rather than by force.”

Rung #15 — Work
Simple, right? But at the end of the day, if you don’t put in the work… nothing will happen. No one will achieve your goals for you. Yes, your thoughts are important. But action is equally as important.

→ Create a Schedule
→ Plan Out Your Tasks
→ Stay Accountable

Quote: “Do not wait. The time will never be just right. Start where you stand, and work whatever tools you may have at your command and better tools will be found as you go along.”

Rung #16 — The Golden Rule
You’ve probably heard this before: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. But we don’t talk about this principle as much in today’s world. It was a BIG DEAL in Hill’s time. And I think it’s important to remember how simple and important this rule is for achieving success.

→ Say Nice Things
→ Treat Others With Respect
→ Smile More

Quote: “Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.”

Great stuff, right?

These “rungs” have been super impactful in my own life… and I hope going through them was impactful for you, too.
