A few years ago I did something crazy.
I bought the entire 1925 signed book set for $1.5 million!
(Check out the story here)
What’s so cool to me about this set is that it’s from 1925, but The Law of Success wasn’t officially published until 1928!
This is actually what’s referred to as a galley copy — Napoleon Hill likely bound it to give to family or to get feedback from his friends. Or perhaps just to review his own work in a different format.
If you compared the 1928 version with this version, you’d immediately notice that the 1928 books are about three times as big. That’s because Napoleon Hill made edits and added content over the following years.

This was his first groundbreaking work.
In fact, you’ll notice that all of his other books — Think & Grow Rich, Outwitting the Devil, How To Raise Your Own Salary… are all just iterations of The Law of Success.
Here, I thought it’d be fun to share some of the main lessons from The Law of Success, as well as some of my favorite quotes.
So let’s dive in!

Here are some of my favorite lessons and quotes from The Law of Success!
It's all about figuring out your 'why'.
What drives you?
Your purpose is your compass, guiding your decisions and giving your actions meaning. To find it, think about what you love doing and what you're good at. It's not just about setting goals, but understanding why those goals matter to you.
"Before you can achieve success in the higher and broader sense you must gain such thorough control over yourself that you will be a person of poise."
You're not alone in this journey.
Surround yourself with people who inspire you, who challenge you, and who bring different strengths to the table. Together, you can achieve more than you could alone.
Remember, collaboration multiplies success.
"Master Mind, meaning a mind that is developed through the harmonious co-operation of two or more people who ally themselves for the purpose of accomplishing any given task."
Here's the thing – it's about trusting yourself.
Just like you know the back of your hand, knowing your abilities and strengths is key. It's like having a secret weapon; when you're confident, you can face challenges head-on and make decisions without second-guessing yourself. Confidence doesn't mean you won't have doubts, but it does mean you don't let those doubts control you.
"It is a well established fact that the faculties of the mind, like the limbs of the body, atrophy and wither away if not used. Self-confidence is no exception. It develops when used but disappears if not used."
Believe in yourself and in your vision, even when it's not easy.
Faith is not just hoping for the best; it's acting with confidence even in the face of uncertainty. Trust in your ability to make things happen.
"Prayer based upon FAITH always works."
People gravitate towards those who are positive, empathetic, and genuine. Be someone others enjoy being around.
It's not about being perfect, but about being approachable, understanding, and kind.
"It is the personalities back of a business which determine the measure of success the business will enjoy."
Success isn't a sprint; it's a marathon. And self-discipline is your training for it.
It's about choosing long-term gains over immediate pleasures, staying focused, and maintaining control over your actions and reactions.
"You have been endowed with the power to use the most highly organized form of energy known to man, that of thought."
Your attitude shapes your experiences.
Approach life with optimism and resilience. When you encounter obstacles, see them as opportunities to grow.
Remember, a positive mindset often leads to positive outcomes.
"First: I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my definite purpose, therefore I demand of myself persistent, aggressive and continuous action toward its attainment."
Passion is contagious.
When you're enthusiastic about your work, your hobbies, or your life in general, it not only fuels your energy but also inspires those around you.
Find what excites you and let that enthusiasm shine.
"Here is a man who sees nothing but the best there is in all whom he meets. If his neighbors seem indifferent he takes no notice of that fact, for he makes it his business to fill his mind with dominating thoughts of optimism and good cheer and faith in others."
Don't wait for opportunities; create them.
If you have an idea, act on it. If you see something that needs improvement, be the one to start changing it. Taking initiative shows leadership and ambition.
"Power grows out of ORGANIZED KNOWLEDGE, but, mind you, it 'grows out of it' through application and use!"
Think outside the box.
The world's most significant achievements were once just ideas in someone's head. Use your imagination to find new solutions to old problems and to dream big.
"Imagination is a faculty of the mind which can be cultivated, developed, extended, and broadened by use."
Spreading yourself too thin gets you nowhere.
Focus on what's important. Prioritize your efforts on tasks that align with your goals and values.
Remember, depth often beats breadth.
"Hard labor and good intentions are not sufficient to carry a man through to success, for how may a man be sure that he has attained success unless he has established in his mind some definite object that he wishes?"
Not all thoughts are created equal.
Learn to differentiate between fact and opinion, between emotional reactions and logical conclusions.
Make decisions based on clear, rational thinking.
"Before you can achieve success in the higher and broader sense you must gain such thorough control over yourself that you will be a person of poise."
Everyone fails. It's a part of life.
What matters is what you learn from those failures. Each setback is a lesson in disguise, a step closer to your ultimate success.
"Far from being a disadvantage, struggle is a decided advantage, because it develops those qualities which would forever lie dormant without it."
No one achieves anything great alone.
Learn to work well with others, respecting their viewpoints and valuing their contributions. Cooperation leads to better ideas, smoother execution, and shared successes.
"Every person should make it his business to gather new ideas from sources other than the environment in which he daily lives and works."
Every failure is a chance to start again more intelligently.
Don't be afraid to fail; be afraid not to try. Remember, the road to success is often paved with lessons learned from failure.
"No man ever achieved worthwhile success who did not, at one time or other, find himself with at least one foot hanging well over the brink of failure."
Time is your most valuable resource.
Use it wisely. Prioritize tasks, eliminate distractions, and set clear goals. Remember, being busy isn't the same as being productive.
"Procrastination robs you of opportunity... no man may ever make up a second of lost TIME. TIME is a master worker that heals the wounds of failure and disappointment... but it favors only those who kill off procrastination and remain in ACTION when decisions are to made."
Financial stability is a key to freedom.
Start saving a portion of your earnings regularly. It's not about the amount; it's about the habit. Over time, these savings can provide a cushion for opportunities or emergencies.
"The habit of saving money requires more force of character than most people have developed for the reason that saving means self-denial and sacrifice... one who develops the savings habit acquires at the same time many of the other needed habits which lead to success."
Your body is your vessel through life.
Treat it with care. Exercise, eat well, and rest. A healthy body supports a healthy mind, and both are essential for success.
"The cells of your body will respond to your enthusiasm and your lazy feeling will disappear... An active dynamic mind keeps the cells of which the physical portions of the body consist in a constant state of activity."
Keep going, even when it's tough.
Your willingness to persist through challenges is a true measure of your desire for success. Remember, the hardest times often lead to the greatest moments.
"The desire must be placed in the mind and held there with PERSISTENCE THAT KNOWS NO DEFEAT until the automatic or subconscious mind takes it over... Persistence may be compared to the dropping of water which finally wears away the hardest stone."
Own your actions and their consequences. Blaming others gets you nowhere.
When you take responsibility, you take control of your life, and that's where real change happens.
"No man has a chance to enjoy permanent success until he begins to look in a mirror for the real cause of all his mistakes."
Don’t stop here!
