No Excuses! (2010)

The Psychology of Achievement (1984)
COMING SOON

“Never complain, never explain. Resist the temptation to defend yourself or make excuses.”
A friend recommended this book to me a few years ago, but I only got to it recently. It really was a turning point for me in many ways.
It offers many ideas you might find in other places, but some I have not seen elsewhere. The one that really helped me is - I am sorry to say I never figured this out before reading it here - that you have to REALLY make up your mind what it is you want before you can really be sure to get it. That is not necessarily as easy as it sounds, since having too many plan B's or not having a REAL plan can swallow you up, and you get nowhere.
Wish I had read this a long time ago!
If you simply implement the strategies in this book, many of which have to do with programming your subconscious, you will progress much faster in your personal development and in achieving your life goals.
I've read books, listened to CDs, and watched DVDs created by many personal coaching gurus, and I rank Brian Tracy as #1. This book delivers concise and to-the-point strategies to improve your everyday performance and to reach your goals faster. Brian also does not write in a goofy or religious manner (although I appreciate spirituality and faith), which increases his credibility in my opinion. If you have a results-oriented mindset, this book will be especially appealing to you, and there is no way you can beat the value for the price.
If you will listen to one thing I say, it's this:
YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!
This book was written in 1995. If I knew it then (6 years old), my life would have definitely turned marvelous. Not complaining at all though...
Maximum Achievement could be one of the best books I've ever read. It's definitely life-changing once you've absorbed all its wisdom wholeheartedly; it can only take you on a journey of continuous improvement in all sections of your life.
What I loved about it is that it has a lot to say about DOING rather than just THINKING of doing. It insists that yes, what you think about comes about, but at the same time, you reap what you sow, and you can't go reaping without sowing.
We all know the mind is a powerful tool, and once we start thinking about something, we often act on it. Thoughts are the catalysts that often bring out ideas into reality. The book is a complete circle of reaching goals and achievements. It's not enough to have a goal and think about achieving it if we are sitting back, not willing to DO something about it. Finding more books and learning more from people who've been through what you are going through and reached the destination you want to reach is an important task and one step that takes you so far ahead. It's always easier to learn from others' experiences and mistakes rather than go and make your own mistakes.
The book also sets ground rules when it comes to goals and purposes; all in all, every action and behavior is eventually based on making you fulfilled as a happy human being. Whether you want to do something good or bad, it shall reflect on the final outcome, because what you do to others will be done to you. So really just BE GOOD AND DO GOOD!
So eventually, there is only one road for happiness, no matter how many diversions it may have; it's the road of goodness and higher purposes of benefiting yourself and everyone around you.
I could keep explaining this book, but one thing is for sure: I can't say it better! So read it for yourself. :)
This is the book that helped me get my WHOLE life together.
Brian Tracy is one of my favorite personal development coaches. He’s another one that I stumbled upon on YouTube. I learned a lot from him when I first began my personal growth journey. He taught me the importance of building the type of habits that are required to become successful. This book covers how to be successful in all areas of your life. I pulled 5 of my favorite quotes from the book to share with you.
The first one is…
"Positive expectations are the mark of a superior personality."
I love this quote because when I began studying success and successful people, I noticed one of the things they all had in common was the fact that they expected to succeed. People who expect positive things to happen have better outcomes than those who don’t.
The second one is…
"It is impossible to succeed without failing."
I love this quote because I’ve seen it in my own life. I’ve failed forward in so many ways. The key to succeeding is using failed attempts as opportunities to continue to learn and grow.
The third one is…
"Changing habits that are no longer consistent with your higher purposes is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do, and one of the most essential to the quality of your life."
I love this quote because it’s true. I’ve definitely struggled with changing some habits, but by becoming more disciplined, I’ve seen how making certain changes has improved the quality of my life. Most people don’t realize how changing a few habits could make a world of difference.
The fourth one is..
"You perform as well as you believe yourself capable of performing. You are as effective as you believe yourself to be in whatever you do. You can never be better or different on the outside than you believe yourself to be on the inside."
I love this quote because mindset is everything. Who you are on the inside is a reflection of who you become on the outside.
The last quote is…
"Your future largely depends on what you learn and practice from this moment onward."
I love this quote because it made me aware of the fact that my future was dependent on my actions going forward. It made me realize I could either do things differently and improve my life, or continue doing things the same way and stay miserable. The choice was mine.
I recommend reading Maximum Achievement if you're ready to get on the path to becoming your best self so you can function at your maximum level of potential.
